Amplification -
The occurrence of dynamic DNA amplification phenomena in different phases of plant development is widespread.
Extra DNA synthesis has been observed in a variety of differentiating, differentiated and dedifferentiating cell systems.
These observations allow us to formulate a working hypothesis that selective replication might be one of the main control mechanisms in plant growth and morphogenesis.
This process has often been found to be under hormonal control; genotypes may also exert an important influence on it.
The amplified DNA is of labile nature.
