Helicases - Helicase is the enzyme responsible for unwinding of the double-stranded DNA into single stranded DNA by breaking the hydrogen bonds. Helicase works along with topoisomerase. Helicase uses A TP as the energy source for unwinding. It contains an ATPase that breaks down two molecules of A TP for every base pair separated.
