Primase - A specific RNA polymerase, called Primase, synthesizes short stretches of RNA that are complementary and anti parallel to the DNA template. In the resulting hybrid duplex, A pairs with U and G pairs with C. These short RNA sequences are constantly being synthesized at the replication fork on the lagging strand but very few are required on the leading strand.
