Primary Explanation Techniques
Harrison (1907) and Carrel (1912) developed primary explantation techniques for cultivation of fresh tissue derived from the organism. These are modified into various specialized techniques for use in embryo and organ culture too.
The different explantation techniques are
1. Slide or Coverslip Culture
2. Carrel Flask culture and
3. Roller Test Tube culture
