Skills of a Bioentrepreneur
A variety of skills are also needed to be a successful entrepreneur. Although research experience, degrees and publications may help, a successful bioentrepreneur should possess the following intangible attributes for coping with many complex and ambiguous situations: adaptability, intelligence, confidence, ability to interact with others, ambitions, persistence, risk taking capacity, humility, flexibility and patience. A successful bioentrepreneur also needs to have great communication skills. He/she, should be able to write and speak clearly and confidently and should be persuasive and creative. Scientists who aspire to become bioentrepreneur can learn these attributes by experience, by attending biotechnology conferences and/or by taking one or more of the several bioentrepreneurial training and educational courses, offered by the university systems in several countries.
