Compound Genes OR Spilit Genes OR Discontinuous Genes OR Mosaic Genes -

Not all genes are continuous like simple genes, but some genes contain some sequences which do not code for amino acid.

The sequence which codes or contains the information coding is called as exon.

The sequences which contain the non coding information are called as introns.

Introns and exons are DNA sequences, but depending upon whether they are represented in the amino acid sequences or not, they are classified.
