Use

Haploids
in
Plant
Breeding -Among the different uses of haploids, their use in crop improvement is considered to be the most significant and stands out as the most important reason for emphasis on haploid research.
Several extensive reviews have appeared during the last two decades, outlining the theory and the application of haploid breeding in general and also in particular crops (Kasha, 1974; Nitzsche and Wenzel, 1977; Clapham, 1977; Davies and Hopwood, 1980; Kasha and Seguin-Swartz, 1983; Choo et al., 1985; Peloquin et al, 1991).
