Haploids - These denote the presence of single copy of a genome. These represent the gametic chromosome number of a species.
Haploids are represented by "n". These mutants are highly sterile and used in production of the homozygous lines. In haploids, none of the chromosomes has two homologues. Hence, all chromosomes are unpaired during meiosis and are present as n equivalents.
