Microchamber Techniques - A microchamber can be created either by using a microscope slide and coverslips (latter held in place by sterile mineral oil), or by a cavity slide. Single cells are suspended in conditioned medium, and a drop of medium having a single cell is placed in the microchamber, which is covered by a coverslip.

In case of cavity slide, the drop is placed onto a coverslip, which is then inverted onto the slide cavity. Microchambers allow microscopic observation, and they can be kept in a Petri dish for incubation.
