Dilution Cloning - The method of dilution cloning was proposed first by Sanford and then by Puck and Marcus (1955). Trypsinized individual cells are used for preparing suspensions and from the suspension; cells are seeded at low density, in multi well dishes, Petri dishes or plastic bottles.

These seeded cells are incubated, until colonies are formed, which are isolated and then propagated as usual.
