Propagation of Hybrid Plants - In crops where male sterility is not available, production of hybrid seed is expensive and hybrid seed can not be multiplied due to segregation and loss of vigour in F₂ generation.

Hybrid plants in such cases (depending upon the economics) can be propagated on a large scale using tissue culture methods. These hybrids may be cheaper than those produced from seed developed through manual emasculation and pollination.
