Propagation of Hybrid Plants - In crops where male sterility is not available, production of hybrid seed is expensive and hybrid seed can not be multiplied due to segregation and loss of vigour in F2 generation.

Hybrid plants in such cases (depending upon the economics) can be propagated on a large scale using tissue culture methods. These hybrids may be cheaper than those produced from seed developed through manual emasculation and pollination.
