DNA
Delivery - In this approach DNA is delivered into the cell cytoplasm and nucleus by silicon carbide fibres of 0.6 µm diameter and 10-80 µm length.
In one study, suspension culture cells were mixed with plasmid DNA having gus gene and silicon carbide fibres, all suspended in the culture medium. The mixture was vertexed, and the cells were assayed for transient gus expression; the frequency of gus positive cells was 10-4.
