Bioinsecticides - The use of chemical pesticides is being discouraged in recent years due to
(i) spread of insect resistance
(ii) environmental pollution, and
(iii) rising costs.
Therefore, the use of bioinsecticide and an integrated approach to insect pest control have become necessary.
Bioinsecticide are biodegradable (environment friendly), non toxic and cost effective. Some of these bioinsecticide, introduced in the USA in 1950's, are based on Bacillus thuringiensis.
